School Site Council

The primary task of the School Site Council (SSC) is to work with the principal to develop, review and evaluate Portola’s school improvement programs and school budget.

Membership

The members of the council should represent all of the segments of the Portola school community. It is composed of the principal, teachers, other school personnel, and five parents and/or community members for a total of ten members. Parent and community members should be representatives of the various interest groups of the school community.

Purpose

The purpose of the School Site Council is to ensure the school is continually engaged in identifying and implementing curriculum and instructional practices that result in both strengthening the core academic program and ensuring that students have access to and success in that program.
